Wolf cooking appliances · Boston, MA
A professional range in a city kitchen is a different animal.
Wolf ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and hoods across Boston — including the ones dropped into a rowhouse kitchen that was built for a thirty-inch stove and a window fan. Ignition, gas valves, infrared broilers, induction inverters and blower runs are all one trade, and it is the only trade we work in.
Cooking appliances
Four appliances, one trade.
Ignition and gas on one side, heat and airflow on the other. A kitchen that runs a Wolf range usually runs a Wolf hood over it, and both are looked at on the same visit when they need to be.

The broil element was glowing in patches and scorching everything unevenly. It had gone brittle at one end. He fitted a new one, then ran it with me standing there so I could see the heat was even.

The blower was loud but shifting almost no air over the island. The duct had come apart above the ceiling and was venting into the joist bay. He resealed the joint and the smoke clears now.

Navy Yard loft, where the service lift has to be booked and you get a fixed window to work in. He arrived on the dot, traced the griddle running far hotter at one end to a failed element, and had the job finished before the slot ran out.

Neighbourhoods
Four parts of the city, four different ways in.
The appliance is the constant. What changes is the stair, the hill, the service lift and whether a thirty-six inch range can be brought through the front door at all.
-
West Roxbury 02132 West Roxbury is single-family colonials and capes on regular lots with driveways and side doors, which makes moving equipment straightforward. Kitchens are frequently extended into a rear addition with an island cooktop and a ducted hood. -
Charlestown 02129 Colonial and Federal houses around Monument Square and Main Street, plus loft conversions in the old Navy Yard. The hill streets are steep and narrow, and the waterfront buildings keep their kitchens upstairs behind a single service lift. -
South Boston 02127 Three-deckers and two-families run from Andrew Square out to City Point, with newer condominium blocks along the waterfront. Kitchens in the older stock are compact, and a professional range often goes in where a much smaller stove stood. -
Brookline 02445 Brookline runs from Victorian frame houses off Walnut Street to large 1920s apartment blocks along Beacon and Harvard. Kitchens are usually rebuilt inside an old footprint, so built-in refrigeration ends up in tight cabinet runs with almost no side clearance.
Standards
What holds on every call.
-
Cooking appliances only
Ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and ventilation. Nothing else rides on the van.
-
Gas work by the numbers
Manifold pressure is measured on every gas call, not estimated from the flame.
-
One quoted figure
Parts and labour together, before anything is opened up.
-
Independent
An independent business repairing Wolf equipment, with no manufacturer affiliation.
Method
Three stages, and the price arrives before the tools do.
-
IThe model, and what it is doing
Model and serial off the plate behind the oven door or under the front lip of a cooktop, then the fault in plain words. Wolf platforms differ enough that this decides what travels on the van.
-
IIMeasured, not guessed
Gas pressure at the manifold, spark and flame sense per burner, element and sensor resistance, blower draw at each speed. The readings are shown to you as they are taken.
-
IIIA number, then the work
Parts and labour as one figure before anything comes apart. Approve it and the $95 service call comes off the total; decline it and the diagnosis is still yours.
Book a visit
Tell us the model and the fault. The figure follows.
A flat $95 service call covers the visit and the diagnosis, and comes off the bill when you approve the repair. Visits run 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, seven days; the line is answered 24/7.
